Kai’s alarm clock blared, signaling the start of another ordinary day. Sunlight filtered through the blinds of his small, cluttered apartment. He groggily silences the alarm, his mind starts racing through the list of mundane tasks awaiting him.

At his office job, Kai was a picture of quiet efficiency, his eyes fixed on the computer screen, fingers flying across the keyboard. He exchanged brief, polite conversations with colleagues but mostly kept to himself, a lone island in a sea of office cubicles.

In his cubicle, surrounded by the hum of computers and the soft chatter of his coworkers, Kai often finds himself lost in thoughts about other worlds, stories he has read, or ideas he wishes he could explore. This silent retreat into his imagination is his refuge, a space where he feels a sense of belonging and purpose that he seldom finds in his immediate surroundings.
